This is the way the best European runner Sigge Jacobsson from Sweden was dressed during the 1912 Olympic marathon race.

Who is running in the best 1912 style dress?

The Jubilee Marathon is a race in the spirit of 1912. There will not be any grand prizes to those who run fastest. However we will give out prizes to those 50 runners who run the race in clothing (not shoes) that is most similar to the clothing of the runners in the marathon race 1912.

Dressed in the dark greene west and trousers, Christian Gitsham from South Africa is the number two finisher.

At 08.00 on Sunday morning July 15 we will publish race number and name of those 50 runners who are the winners of this competition here on the Jubilee Marathons website.
These 50 runners are awarded with a bowl of cheramics, specially made for the Jubilee Marathon, and a copy of the recently published Swedish book about Marathon races in Stockholm.

If you belong to the winners, take your number bib with you when you go to the post race party at the Olympic Stadium. The party starts at 12.00 on Sunday July 15.

Go to the tent where we sell souvenirs for the Jubilee Marathon, show your number bib and you are awarded with your prize. The tent is placed on the running track, close to the place where the start and finish was during the race on Saturday.
If you can’t come to the Stadium Party we will send you the prize by post.

Of the 50 winning runners, 15 are given the opportunity to participate in the finale which will take place during the post race party. These 15 runners are presented separately among the 50 winners on www.jubileemarathon.se.

The winner of the finale is awarded with a miniature of the medal for the Jubilee Marathon Stockholm 1912-2012 in 18 carat gold. Those who place themselves as number two and three get a miniature medal in pure silver. The diameter of thye medal is 30 mm.

If you are among the 15 in the finale, you do like this. Bring the clothing you wore during the Jubilee Marathon and report to the tent where we sell souvenirs no later than 12:15 . You will then be directed to a lockerroom where you can change clothes.

The finalists are presented on the stage inside the Stadium and are evaluated by a jury. Then there is the prize giving ceremony for the top three.
