14th July 2012: Jubilee Marathon Stockholm 1912 – 2012
Saturday 14 July 2012 will be 100 years to the day since that Olympic Marathon. On this day Jubilee Marathon Stockholm 1912-2012 will take place – a race which will follow as closely as possible the route of the 1912 Olympic race, from Stockholm Stadium out to the turning point at Sollentuna Church then back to the Stadium.

A Tour of the 1912 Olympic Marathon Course
November 27 marked the start of the project Jubilee Marathon Stockholm 1912–2012. A team from the Stockholm Marathon office joined a selected group to study the course. The Jubilee Marathon of July 14, 2012 will be 40.2 kilometres; the same distance as the original race contested exactly a hundred years earlier. A final loop will be added to reach the modern length of a marathon, 42,195 metres.
